| Over time, humans have achieved great civilization and are continuously heading towards one greater. Ironically, however, humans, development of civilization, the human intellect becomes dull and conscience fades away. Not knowing where I am standing or where I should go, I find myself looking up to the sky out of nostalgia and the desire to escape reality as I walk in unconsciousness. The world is overcome with neon signs, whether it is 'night' or 'day' - and standing amidst the foggy 'night' or 'day' is me: and I am the Contemporary Human. I wonder what our current modern society would have been like. I walk backwards, step by step, only to find myself among nature - when I turn, I find a tree. The tree gestures for me to come to it. I look at it longingly, but my feet don't move. So I still am here, where I was, and always have been. The tree, also standing where it was, always have been, and always will be, is like me, in a way. The tree is a subject of nostalgia for those living in society now, as well as a portrait of the Contemporary Human. (written by So Lee )
